Happy Birthday, Johnny Appleseed!

Today we celebrated Johnny Appleseed's birthday! We read a story that told about his life, and we learned what folk lore is. The children each made a hat that resembled John Chapman's hat, which is said to have been a pot!

We spent the afternoon working on apple centers, including apple measuring, making an apple tree craft, a dice game, and the children sampled apple cider and apple juice! The class also sampled three different colors of apples, and graphed their favorites.
